Demand for CBD Drives Resurgence of Legalized Hemp Farming
Taking opportunity of change in the law, growers in the Antelope Valley have taken a first step toward reintroducing industrial hemp into mainstream agriculture, and planted their first test crop on 100 acres. A cannabis plant without the active ingredient in marijuana, hemp fiber historically has been used for fabric and paper, but current demand is for CBD oil, a nonintoxicating substance reputed to have therapeutic value.
